Usually when I buy brand new running shoes, it takes a few runs for them to start breaking in. With these, I never had that problem. They felt good from the start. That helps me out since I run more like a penguin than a gazelle.
Barrett
I honestly never thought about the shoes the entire time. Even right now when I think back about it nothing comes to mind. So I guess that means they did their job perfectly.
Michael
The shoes had a great cushion system that I found to be very helpful in long distances. I want to start training for marathons and this is going to be a huge issue.

Best Part of The Trip?
Sleeping in the car on the way back from Boston. Three days straight of running, filming, and editing into the night had made me a kind of tired I had never experienced before.
Michael
Boston, to see the finish line for one of the greatest marathons in the world was so amazing.
Dave
Mine had to be in Philly. I went into a bar to get us 3 Philly Cheese Steaks. When in Rome. Anyway, while I was in there, several people were asking me what I was up to. As I explained our story, more and more people gathered around. By the time I walked out the door, the entire bar was shouting their good lucks to me. That was one of those moments the camera didn't capture.

Saucony Fan in Ashland Virginia
At a coffee shop pit stop, a fellow patron spotted my red splotchy face, salty eyebrows, and powerful stench from across the way.
“Did you run today?” he asked, surprised anyone would be so foolish.
“Yeah, I don’t mind the heat, but the air was just no good.”
As we divulge what it is exactly what we are up to, his interest is peaked.
Turns out Juston Manville is a life long runner and former coach at Trinity College. And most importantly he runs in Saucony.
The Mission
Normally RFPs are simply mailed. Mailing Saucony’s RFP just didn’t seem right.
Saucony is headquartered in Boston. Charlotte to Boston isn’t too far.
Let’s run it to them.
Here’s the plan, Barrett, Michael, and David will run individual legs of the journey. Charlotte, Richmond, DC, Philadelphia, New York, and finally Boston. The RFP in hand all the way like a baton.
We will document the journey and update this blog as we go.
It’s so crazy it might just work.

Runners pass on the love
Why do you think people run? Is it to lose weight? Is it just to feel better about yourself? I think it is all those things and more.
I started running in high school because a friend invited me. I was a slightly chubby kid so this was new to me having lost weight by getting older. I had only done short distance, so sprints made sense to me. My coach however was able to see that this was not for me. I was surprised to see my name on the list for the 1600-meter race. I did not take it seriously but that did not stop me from taking third place. Then the coach wanted me to run the 3200-meter race in less than 20 minutes. Needless to say I was scared and I ran it and passed out, but that is were it started for me. I went on to run cross-country in high school and college. I have had great coaches along the way but it all started with just that small invite. I love running but I love helping people run even more.
If you are a “runner” you need to spread the love.
